Backbone trail Advertisment Campaign
For this project I was tasked to create a visual piece that marketed the hiking trail called Backbone Trail. Purpose for this was to bring in awareness of the trail and drive traffic to it. I went with designing a poster and T-shirts to go along with those that have completed the trail as an added incentive.
Here is the moodboard I started with for this project. I was gathering the visual look and synthesizing the overall color scheme I wanted to go for with this project. Backbone is located in southern California which is known to be a arid climate. I needed colors that matched this feel.
This is an early draft of the poster. I wanted to capture the environment of this trail and also bring up A somewhat forgotten culture of California. California was part of the wild west. The name Backbone trail gives it this rugged old western feel and I wanted to capture that in this design.
First drafts of the poster design. Making sure I make the header type has big as possible to communicate how big the trail is along with this rugged nature I wanted to bring out of it.
As a deliverable incentive for the people that participate and complete the trail they will get a shirt that is designed in the same theme as the poster. The design for this was heavily influenced once again on the trails arid environment and history of the region.
